Meadow Brook Farms - Where the Dodge Automobile Began

Meadow Brook Farms is the original Oakland County land and farmhouse that John Dodge bought in 1908 as an expression of his remarkable success as a pioneer of the automotive industry. John and his wife Matilda Dodge enjoyed it as a family retreat from the city, and John and his brother Horace Dodge designed the first Dodge automobile in seclusion there. From the initial 320-acre purchase, Meadow Brook Farms grew to 1,400 acres.
