About the MotorCities National Heritage Area Junior Ranger Program

This program will help you explore the MotorCities National Heritage Area, located in Michigan. This is the place that put the world on wheels! Click on the links below to take virtual tours of all of the places that have made and continue to make MotorCities National Heritage Area the automotive capital of the world.

You can do the activities in any order you want, so choose subjects that are interesting to you. Once you complete four out of the six activities, you will be an official Junior Ranger! Junior Rangers help take care of all the National Parks and Heritage Areas throughout the United States.

How Can I Become a Junior Ranger?
Although now may not be the right time to visit sites in person, there are many virtual ways that you can get to know the MotorCities National Heritage Area and become a Junior Ranger.

  • Look at the MotorCities National Heritage Area map and pick out a favorite site to tour virtually;
  • Drive through historic sites of interest with your family;
  • List your favorite MotorCities National Heritage Area spaces and write down what you see;
  • Complete the MotorCities National Heritage Area activities on the website and begin your journey to being a Junior Ranger;
