Mack Avenue Engine Plant

This site at 4000 St. Jean is both historic and modern. After 1920, Briggs Manufacturing Company built car bodies here for Ford, Plymouth and other models. In 1953, Chrysler Corporation bought the plant and used it for stamping parts for the nearby Dodge Main plant. Chrysler built a new plant on the site and built nearly 3 million engines here from 1998 to 2012. FCA has announced this plant will be re-opened to start assembling Jeep Grand Cherokees in 2021.
