The annual MotorCities National Heritage Area Awards of Excellence recognize organizations and individuals who have delivered outstanding projects in the following areas:
- Auto or labor heritage tourism;
- Education/interpretation;
- and revitalization.
For organizations, the project must have taken place within the boundaries of the MotorCities National Heritage Area in Michigan. If nominating an individual, they also must be connected to a project in the heritage area. The deadline for nominations is 11:59 PM EDT on May 9, 2025. Self-nominations are permitted.
By May 21, finalists will be announced in each of the three categories. The awards will be presented at an Awards of Excellence Luncheon on Wednesday, June 4 at the Stellantis Conner Center in Detroit.

MotorCities Awards of Excellence program began in 2014 and have become an annual opportunity to celebrate the story that can only be told in Michigan: How this area "Put The World On Wheels."
