DETROIT (June 9, 2026) – MotorCities National Heritage Area (MNHA), a Detroit nonprofit, servicing 16 counties with a mission to preserve, interpret and promote the region’s automotive and labor heritage today announced a transition in its Board of Directors, welcoming three new members who will help steer the organization into its next chapter. The nonprofit also thanks outgoing board members for their years of dedicated service, leadership, and passion for telling the story of how southeast and central Michigan “put the world on wheels.”

The outgoing board members announced during the organization’s board meeting are as follows:

  • Sabin Blake served five years on the MNHA board and formerly was the director of North American business communications for General Motors.
  • Nick Nerbonne is the media and digital director for Travel Michigan in Lansing and served two years on the MNHA board, where he also led the organization’s communications committee.
  • Amber Taylor served four years on the MNHA board and is the president of Back to the Bricks in Flint.


The newly elected board members will serve a two-year term and include:

  • Heidi Magyar, the director of heritage operations at General Motors, where she leads the strategy, stewardship and storytelling of the company’s heritage assets, including GM’s historic Durant-Dort Carriage Factory and the new GM Heritage Center.
  • Chris Moyer, who works at Truscott Rossman, a premier strategic communications firm as head of public affairs. In his role, Chris helps clients tell stories that move public perception, shape great public policy, and position Michigan as a global leader in innovation, clean energy, and economic opportunity.
  • Kelly Wolgamott is VP of Pure Michigan, where she leads the state’s tourism marketing, branding and public relations efforts.


“The guidance and expertise of our board are vital to our success,” said MotorCities National Heritage Area Executive Director, Shawn Pomaville-Size. “We are incredibly grateful to our outgoing members for their years of service, and we’re excited to work with our new board members as we continue making a meaningful impact in the community by developing and deploying educational and informational programs that preserve the heritage of the automobile industry and labor in our region.”
