Mount Olivet Cemetery

As the population grew from the auto industry there was no space to honor the dead in Detroit. Large new cemeteries were established in quiet open land that was, at that time, outside of Detroit. Mount Olivet Cemetery was 320-acres and opened in 1888 along the track of Grand Trunk Railroad.
