Cadillac Clark Street Assembly Plant

The Clark Street Technology Park now occupies the land near Clark Street and Michigan Avenue where one of the world’s biggest General Motors automobile plants once produced GM’s premier vehicle, the Cadillac. The Clark Street Assembly Plant opened in 1921 near major rail lines and received Cadillac bodies via rail from the nearby Fleetwood Plant on West End Street. The Clark Street Plant closed in 1987 and was torn down in 1997.
