Flint Faience Tile was a General Motors business that designed and manufactured elegant ceramic tiles for homes, ships, and commerical establishments. The company was well known and operated between 1921 and 1933.
While the automobile industry was booming, the lure of jobs in Flint brought people from 37 different nationalities who settled in Flint from around the world. St. John Street was just a short walk away from the Buick Plant and with several diverse people living it that community, it became known as "Little Europe".
