From War to Work: GMC Truck Surges to the Front

During World War I, GMC Truck built over 8,500 military vehicles, largely troop carriers and ambulances. This production accounted for 90 percent of GMC Truck's production during the war. Again in World War II, production was ready to begin and commercial growth continued as GMC Truck was the largest producer of trucks, taxicabs, and buses in the world.
