  • Event Description: Preservation Detroit is also pleased to announce a special MotorCities Auto History tour, thanks to a grant from nonprofit MotorCities National Heritage Area. The two-hour walking tour, offered the second Sunday of each month through September, will explore the early automotive history right in downtown Detroit, from the site of Henry Ford’s shed, where he built his famous Quadricycle, to the Dodge Brothers’ Greektown bicycle building roots. The MotorCities Auto History tour is also available as a private tour to groups from five to fifty guests. Preservation Detroit’s summer tour series continues with weekly Saturday morning tours of Downtown, Midtown/Cultural Center, and Eastern Market. All tours are $20 via Eventbrite. Preservation Detroit also offers customized private tours for groups of all sizes.
